Happy Friday, space fans
We made it to the end of another week. And what a week it was. We had a total solar eclipse and the peak of the Perseids meteor shower. But if you missed the eclipse, it's not too late for the Perseids. While the meteor shower's peak was fantastic (and we have the photos to prove it), the shower is still going on and you might still spot some shooting stars in the night sky! And speaking of the total solar eclipse, amidst the many incredible photos and videos of the event, we are absolutely captivated by this snapshot of the ISS silhouetted on the sun's face as it orbits mid-eclipse. It's a sight almost too amazing to believe. And in addition to all of the skywatching fun, we are still reeling from the strange turn of events when a SpaceX rocket body slammed into the moon earlier this month. In looking at the event, experts suggest that it demonstrates a serious risk that will only increase as we spend more time on the moon.

Personally, I didn't have an eclipse view and haven't spotted a Perseid yet, but it was still so fun following the adventures of folks around the world exploring the beauty of space together.
