On Wednesday, Aug. 12, a total solar eclipse will cross parts of Russia, Greenland, Iceland, Spain, and Portugal. A partial eclipse will be visible in parts of the U.S. from Alaska to North Carolina. Later that night, the Perseid meteor shower peaks.
At mid-month, look for Venus shining low in the west after sunset. And don't miss a partial lunar eclipse at the end of the month.
