NASA STEM Engagement Host a Q&A Session With NASA Astronauts NASA is accepting proposals for U.S.-based education organizations to host a downlink during International Space Station Expedition 76, which runs April to December 2027.   In-flight education downlinks are 20-minute live video Q&A opportunities for students and educators to interact with astronauts aboard the station. Proposals are due by 1 p.m. EDT on Friday, Sept. 25.  Have questions? Two virtual question-and-answer sessions will be offered throughout the proposal period. The downlinks team will answer questions and give feedback on proposals and other parts of the application process. Skywatching Tips for August As you soak up the last summer nights before school starts, check out the August edition of "What's Up" to get details on this month's celestial happenings! On Wednesday, Aug. 12, a total solar eclipse will cross parts of Russia, Greenland, Iceland, Spain, and Portugal. A partial eclipse will be visible in parts of the U.S. from Alaska to North Carolina. Later that night, the Perseid meteor shower peaks. At mid-month, look for Venus shining low in the west after sunset. And don't miss a partial lunar eclipse at the end of the month. Opportunities for Students Virtual Event: NASA’s Career Technical Education Day at Armstrong Flight Research Center Registration Deadline: Tuesday, Aug. 11 Event Date: Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 12:30 p.m. EDT Contact: hq-virtual-engagements@mail.nasa.gov   Join experts from NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California, for a live virtual session designed to introduce students to skilled technical workforce career pathways.   Attendees will hear directly from skilled trades experts as they share their career journeys, describe their typical workdays, and highlight the diverse pathways available to students interested in technical careers at NASA.   Registration is open to individual students.
