Happy Wednesday, space fans
Space Force is making waves as the space-focused Armed Forces branch has opened up and revealed that it operates weapons in orbit. There isn't much more that we know yet about these operations, other than the branch asserts that the real for using weapons is "deterrence" and to "defend the joint force against space-enabled attacks." In space telescope news, NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, which launched just a couple of weeks ago, is now projected to last over two decades. This is much longer than its previously set 5-year primary mission. That's a lot of time to do amazing astronomy. And speaking of astronomy, the James Webb Space Telescope has snapped an incredible new image as part of observations that are allowing scientists to explore and hunt for the smallest brown dwarfs.

What do you think of the news about Space Force? We don't have all of the information, but it's certainly big news to know that they are now openly and actively operating weapons in orbit. Shifting over to commercial spaceflight, keep your eyes peeled this upcoming week as SpaceX is now targeting Sept. 22 for its next Starship flight. And as the company continues to put this vehicle to the test, with this flight they aim to get Starship into orbit for the first time. We will be waiting to see how that goes.
