Happy Tuesday, folks!
Today we are so excited for NASA to reveal the astronauts who will fly on the Artemis 3 mission set to launch next year. Just as the Apollo astronauts became icons and celebrities with their groundbreaking missions, the world fell in love with the Artemis 2 crew this spring. So, as the program works its way up to landing on astronauts on the moon with Artemis 4, we cannot wait to see who will be carrying the torch forward with Artemis 3. We have some guesses as to who we think (or want) to be on the mission, and you probably have some thoughts on the matter as well. Listen in at 11:30 am ET today and follow along to see who gets selected and if we got it right!
Beyond Artemis, ESA astronaut John McFall could become the first person with a physical disability to live in orbit aboard the ISS, JWST weighed a "sleeping giant" black hole and its even more massive than you could imagine, some scientists have suggested spraying chemicals into Earth's magnetic field to prevent against damage from solar storms (and unsurprisingly, not everyone thinks it's a great idea), and we have some spectacular skywatching coming up. Jupiter and Venus are cozying up in the night sky for a conjunction, and some skywatchers are seeing auroras this week. So look up!

That's it for our space update today
Don't forget to tune in today at 11:30 am ET or follow along with our coverage after the big reveal to see who's going to be flying on Artemis 3, and what these crew choices might mean for the mission. We know that Artemis 2 captured some serious moon joy and magic, but with every new crew and new mission we will get a chance to get to know a whole group of astronauts a little bit better.
Following this exciting announcement, we are anticipating some strange new science coming our way so stay tuned. We also expect to hear about some possible new changes to how science is funded in the U.S., meanwhile SpaceX is still planning to go public this week in an over $1.7 trillion deal. What do you think about this move for the company?
