Happy Friday space fans!
We made it to the end of the week and looking ahead, Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket aims to launch NASA's much anticipated ESCAPADE mission to Mars this Sunday (Nov. 9) in the afternoon ET. We'll continue to post updates on our website as this story unfolds, so stay tuned.

Other headlines for today include Lego releasing their first 'Star Trek' kit, China reaching out to NASA to avoid a satellite collision in space and the U.S. military launching an unarmed missile from Vandenberg Space Force Base.

It's also Friday so as we head into the weekend we have your weekly staff recommendations of "what we're reading/playing/watching." You'll find those suggestions from our team at the bottom of your newsletter.

Thanks for exploring with us.
Keep looking up,

What we're reading/playing/watching

Whether you're looking to unwind with a mind-bending sci-fi series or lose yourself in a video game during the coming weekend, we've got you covered. Here's what the Space.com team is enjoying at the moment:

Anthony Wood, Skywatching Writer: "I tripped and fell and now I'm starting Skyrim again from the beginning."

Brett Tingley, Managing Editor: "I'm playing Mars First Logistics, a wonderful game about building vehicles to haul cargo around Mars bases. Who said physics-based spacecraft-building games have to be frustratingly difficult and complex? (Looking at you, Kerbal.)"

Kenna Hughes-Castleberry, Content Manager: "I'm currently reading 'Ghosts of Eden Park' all about bootleggers during the Prohibition era. It's quite good and incredibly well-researched!"
