The Launchpad

It's the anniversary of the launch of the historic Apollo 11 mission, as the craft blasted off today in 1961 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Other stories for today include the kick off of the Perseid Meteor Shower, as we begin shooting star season. So be sure to grab your binoculars and telescopes (or grab some using our exclusive deals) and be ready for some night sky spectacles.

In other news, scientists have found that over 100 "orphan" galaxies may be surrounding our Milky Way, precursors to could form in the lakes on Saturn's moon Titan, and the hit Apple TV+ show "Murderbot" has been renewed for a second season. We have all that and more in your daily read.

Thanks for exploring with us.

Keep looking up,
