It's Thursday and there is already a lot happening today. First, we are hosting the livestream of the interstellar comet 3I/ATLAS as it hurls through our solar system. It's only the third interstellar object discovered, so...kind of a big deal.

We also have an exclusive interview with former NASA astronaut Terry Virts as he begins his senate campaign in Texas. Our own Josh Dinner sits down with Virts to discuss all things NASA budget, the Trump administration and more.

"Speaking with Col. Virts was incredibly insightful. I've never interviewed a politician before, so getting to speak with one so knowledgeable about space - and with such a depth of insider knowledge - was a real pleasure. You can tell his time as an astronaut has really shaped how he intends to carry himself as a US Senator," Josh says.

In other news, a new ocean underneath Africa's Afar region could threaten to split the entire continent apart, Mercury can be seen in the sky near the star Regulus, and the climate satellite MethaneSAT, which was backed by Amazon's Jeff Bezos and Google, fails in space after only a year. It's all here and more.

Thanks for exploring with us.

Keep looking up,

Kenna
