New STEMonstration: 3D Printing

3D printing is transforming space exploration, allowing astronauts to manufacture tools, experiment with new materials, and develop technologies for future missions. In the latest STEMonstration episode, NASA astronaut Suni Williams explains how 3D printing technology is used on the International Space Station to support groundbreaking research and prepare for missions to the Moon and Mars.

Join NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate for a monthly virtual event about aeronautics research taking place at NASA. This month, attendees will get the latest updates on NASA’s Quesst mission and the X-59 aircraft that aims to quiet the boom of supersonic flight. Participants will also explore career pathways to NASA and discover student aeronautics opportunities. A Q&A session will follow the presentation.

 

This event is intended for students attending community colleges, trade and technical schools, and universities – but all are welcome to attend.

Open Science 101 Training Course

NASA’s Open Science 101 course provides the foundational knowledge of the principles and best practices for conducting open science.


Researchers, students, and the public are invited to register for this free, five-module course to learn about the principles of open science; how to plan, conduct, and participate in open science research projects; legal and ethical considerations when planning open science projects; and open science best practices.

Contact Opportunity: Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS)

Proposals are currently being accepted from U.S. schools, museums, and community youth organizations (working individually or together) to host an amateur radio contact with an astronaut aboard the International Space Station between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2026. To maximize the events, ARISS is looking for organizations that will draw large numbers of participants and integrate the contact into a well-developed STEM engagement plan. Radio contacts are approximately 10 minutes.
