| | VEGFs and Receptors | Vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGFs) are a family of secreted polypeptides with mitogenic and angiogenic activities. The importance of VEGFs and receptors in angiogenesis, tumorigenesis, and neuroprotection makes them attractive targets for drug development. | The VEGF family members VEGF-A, VEGF-B, VEGF-C, VEGF-D, VEGF-E, VEGF-F, and PlGF bind in specific patterns to three related receptor protein tyrosine kinases, VEGFR1/FLT1, VEGFR2/KDR, and VEGFR3/FLT4, and two non-tyrosine kinase transmembrane proteins, neuropilin-1 ( NRP1) and neuropilin-2 (NRP2). The ligand-receptor binding induces the formation of homo- and heteromeric receptor complexes and activates downstream signaling. In addition to VEGF signaling, neuropilins also act as co-receptors to numerous other signaling pathways, including those triggered by Epidermal Growth Factor ( EGF), Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF), Hepatocyte Growth Factor ( HGF), Insulin-like Growth Factor ( IGF), Platelet-Derived Growth Factor (PDGF) and Transforming Growth Factor beta ( TGFβ). | | | | VEGF Family Ligands and Receptors | Sino Biological has over 65 recombinant VEGF & receptor proteins covering all VEGF family members and several isoforms of VEGF. A vast majority of these recombinant proteins were expressed in eukaryotic cells (human cells or insect cells), which ensures proper modification and higher activity of proteins. | High Activity | Human / Cynomolgus VEGF165 (Cat#: 11066-HNAH) | Human KDR (Cat#: 10012-H08H) | | | Cell proliferation assay using human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) | Inhibit the VEGF-dependent proliferation of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) | | Recommended Recombinant VEGF & Receptor Proteins | | More Recombinant VEGF & Receptor Proteins | | | VEGF/VEGFR Antibodies | Sino Biological has over 100 antibodies against VEGF & receptor proteins with validated activities in various applications, including western blotting, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, and neutralization.
