Happy Halloween space fans!
For spooky season we have something a bit more scary than whimsical, as NASA is shuttering its flagship center, Goddard Space Flight Center in a way that may not be entirely legal, according to critics. "This story is the result of months of reporting, featuring source interviews, internal NASA communications and a Senate report that all point to agency leadership at the Goddard Space Flight Center enacting changes that are crippling its ability to fulfill the groundbreaking science its facilities are historically known for," our staff writer Josh Dinner explains. "If nothing is done, the center may never recover."

Other headlines for today include a roundup of spooky space structures, China sending three astronauts to its Tiangong Space Station today and Colorado suing the Trump Administration over plan to move Space Command to Alabama.

It's also Friday so as we head into the weekend we have your weekly staff recommendations of "what we're reading/playing/watching." You'll find those suggestions from our team at the bottom of your newsletter.

We have all that and more for your daily read.

Keep looking up,
