Nornickel, the world’s largest producer of palladium, has launched the Palladium Challenge, in close collaboration with the International Precious Metals Institute. The Palladium Challenge seeks to award individuals or institutions who produce the most promising technological solutions that have the potential to generate substantial demand for palladium, a vital metal for the future of the green economy which is used in a range of global industries. The contest will be judged by a panel of renowned science and technology experts, who will assess the merit of applications based on three main criteria: a project’s scientific novelty, economic feasibility, and sustainability, as well as the minimum annual palladium demand generated by the proposed application. Winners of the Palladium Challenge will receive global recognition and a cash prize of up to US$200,000.
