The Launchpad

It's Kenna again with your daily dose of all things space news and science.

There were a couple of big announcements yesterday, the biggest being the first images released from the Vera C. Rubin Observatory in Chile. If you missed our livestream, don't worry, we've got lots of follow up stories that include, in my very unbiased opinion, some of the prettiest images of space we've ever seen. The Rubin Observatory's technology allows it to scan the skies 10-100 times faster than other observatories, meaning that these images are the beginning of something really big for astronomy.

The European Space Agency's Biomass satellite revealed its first images of Earth from space yesterday, using its radar technology to scan jungles, deserts and glaciers around the world.

Moral of the story: If you're looking for a new phone or laptop background, this is your moment to grab something really cool!

We also saw SpaceX carry human remains and DNA up into low orbit, along with a new launch date for SpaceX's private Ax-4 mission and a proposed theory that our cosmos actually formed inside a black hole. There's all that and more right here.

Thanks for exploring with us.

Keep looking up,

Kenna
