NASA is making final preparations to launch the uncrewed Artemis I mission. The two-hour launch window opens at 1:04 a.m. EST on Nov. 16. Live coverage of briefings and events will air on NASA Television, the NASA app, and on NASA's website. Experience the Artemis I launch as part of the Virtual NASA Social. Visit the Join Artemis website to find hands-on activities for kids and families, lesson plans for teachers, videos and storybooks for students, and more. Invite a colleague to join the community and help expand the CONNECTS network.  Are You Up for a Challenge? 2023 High-Altitude Student Platform Opportunity Audience: Community colleges and universities Q&A Teleconference: Nov. 14 at 10 a.m. EST Notice of Intent Deadline: Dec. 2 Application Deadline: Jan. 6, 2023 Contact: hasp@lsu.edu   Student teams are invited to develop experiments to fly to the edge of space on a NASA high-altitude research balloon. The annual project, supported by the NASA Balloon Program Office and the Louisiana Space Grant Consortium, provides near-space access for 12 student experiments. Typically, the flights last 15 to 20 hours and reach an altitude of 122,000 feet. There is no cost for launch and flight operations. Student teams must raise funds to support payload development and travel, if necessary. Artemis ROADS Student Challenge Audience: Students in grades 3-12 Registration Deadline: Jan. 11, 2023 Contact: nwessp@uw.edu   NASA's Northwest Earth and Space Sciences Pathways invites student teams to tackle science and engineering problems related to a Moon mission. In this year's Rover Observation And Drone Survey (ROADS) national student challenge, teams will get inspiration from NASA’s Artemis mission. Challenges will include developing a wheel for a lunar rover, investigating possible landing sites on the lunar south pole, and more. Artemis ROADS aligns with Next Generation Science Standards, creating a fun, hands-on activity that can help students meet requirements. Curriculum for a companion course is also available.
