Happy Friday space fans!

It's the end of the week, but that doesn't mean there isn't news to share, starting with an image a SpaceX Starlink satellite captured over Dingxin Airbase, one of the most secretive military locations in China.

Other headlines for today include a possible increase in space weather due to new solar activity, an impossibly hard new sci-fi quiz (as you told us the last one was too easy) and solar flares being much, much hotter than experts initially thought. We have all that and more for your daily read.

It's also Friday so as we head into the weekend we have your weekly staff recommendations of "what we're reading/playing/watching." You'll find those suggestions from our team at the bottom of your newsletter.

Thanks for exploring with us.
Keep looking up,

What we're reading/playing/watching

It's Friday, which means it's time to kick back, recharge and dive into something stellar. Whether you're looking to unwind with a mind-bending sci-fi series or lose yourself in a video game, we've got you covered. Here's what the Space.com team is enjoying this weekend: our latest recs to inspire, entertain, and fuel your curiosity about the universe.

Tariq Malik, Editor-in-Chief: "I have been crashing through Marvel Rivals and am super excited for the launch of Marvel Rivals season 4, which is today."

Brett Tingley, Managing Editor: "I've been loving flipping through 'Klingon Next Door: Off Duty the Warriors Way' by Joey Spiotto. It's a humorous look into what our favorite Star Trek characters might do in their spare time."

Kenna Hughes-Castleberry, Content Manager: "I've been reading 'V is for Venom' by Kathryn Harkup, which is all about the science of poisons in Agatha Christie's novels. For anyone who went through a poisons phase as a kid, this book is your next guilty read."
