New Storybook: There and Back With EGS

Contact: twila.g.schneider@nasa.gov

When the mighty SLS (Space Launch System) rocket and dependable Orion spacecraft are ready for their big Artemis mission, they travel to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida where Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) takes over. EGS gets the rocket and spacecraft ready for launch, sends them to Moon, and helps bring them home again.

The new “There and Back With EGS” storybook is the newest in the series written by Lane Polak and illustrated by Heather Rose Legge-Click. The trio of storybooks introduce young explorers ages 3 to 8 to the unique elements needed for the Artemis missions to get to space, the Moon, and beyond.

Check out the Artemis Children’s Book website for activities, downloadable versions of the books, and read-aloud videos.
