Make a STEM Connection: IM-2 Lunar Mission

NASA is working with several American companies to deliver science and

technology to the lunar surface through the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) initiative. Yesterday, the Intuitive Machines' IM-2 mission launched carrying NASA technology experiments, including a drill designed to look for resources below the lunar surface and a small hopping robot for exploring hard-to-reach areas. Riding along with IM-2 is NASA’s Lunar Trailblazer satellite, managed by the agency’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, that will map the distribution of the different forms of water that exist on the surface of the Moon.

As excitement builds for next week's landing on the lunar surface, make a STEM connection to the mission with these resources and activities.
