Join NASA CONNECTS for an exclusive virtual meet and greet event featuring a NASA expert. To gain access to this event, all you must do is:

  1. Invite two colleagues to join NASA CONNECTS.
  2. Once they have joined, introduce and tag them in the "Kick-off With Colleagues" group using the "@" feature.
  3. Be on the lookout on Sept. 20 for a Teams invite to join the special event. This link will be posted in the “Kick-off With Colleagues” group as well as emailed to the invited participants.

NASA’s Europa Clipper mission will travel 1.8 billion miles to explore Jupiter’s icy moon, Europa. Bring the excitement of the mission into the math classroom with a trio of lessons and activities.

Educator Professional Development
Audience: K-12 educators
Event Date: Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 7 p.m. EDT
 
UAVs (uncrewed aerial vehicles) have been part of NASA’s fleet for a long time, providing remote sensing for Earth science studies and hyperspectral imaging for agriculture monitoring, tracking storms, and serving as telecommunications relay platforms. In this session that will be presented in Spanish, participants will explore the NASA STEM engagement activity “3, 2, 1… Lunch!” that challenges students to use block programming to navigate a UAV through or around obstacles.

Opportunities to Get Involved
Audience: Graduate students who are U.S. citizens

The NASA GISS Climate Change Research Initiative seeks applicants for a yearlong internship opportunity for graduate student research assistants. Students will work with NASA scientists and lead research teams in a NASA research project related to climate change. This opportunity will not conflict with the students’ coursework and class schedules during the fall and spring. The internship is considered a part-time position that supports each graduate student’s major area of study.
Audience: Full-time 9-12 STEM educators who are U.S. citizens
Application Deadline:
Friday, Aug. 25
 
This yearlong STEM engagement opportunity allows high school STEM educators to work with NASA scientists, lead research teams, and develop STEM curricula for their current classes. Educators participating in this opportunity will become associate researchers who integrate NASA STEM engagement resources and content into their classrooms while improving STEM education within their communities.
Audience: U.S. accredited educational institutions and nonprofit organizations
Proposal Deadline:
Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. EST
 
NASA is seeking proposals for CubeSat payloads in the 1U-12U size range looking to launch between 2025-2028. The CubeSat Launch Initiative gives students, teachers, and faculty a chance to get hands-on flight hardware development experience. Proposed CubeSat investigations must advance NASA’s strategic goals in the areas of STEM engagement, science, technology development/demonstration or NASA workforce development.
