Pet hamsters
All pet hamsters are descended from a single female. She was a wild golden hamster found with a litter of 12 young babies in 1930 in Syria.
Did you know that pet hamsters can run up to 8 miles a night on a wheel in thier cages.
Where Hurricanes form
Hurricanes form in the Atlantic Basin east of the continental United States. The hurricanes in the Northeast Pacific almost never hit the United States while Atlantic Hurricanes strike the United States mainland on average less than twice per year. 
Sand dunes
The highest measured sand dunes are in the Sahara Desert. They can reach a height of 1,210 feet. Some of the dunes are taller than the Empire State Building in New York.

Fun Animal Facts
Birds   The hummingbird, the loon, the swift, the kingfisher, and the grebe are all birds that cannot walk.

Chameleon   A chameleon's tongue is twice the length of its body.
Worker ants   Worker ants may live as long as 15 years.

Jelly fish are not really fish but a group of animals that float in the oceans. 
Most jellyfish live in shallow coastal waters. Some of these fascinating animals have been found to be living as deep as 12,000 feet in some oceans.
