Relativity Space's 3D-printed rocket fails to reach orbit

Relativity Space made history late Wednesday with the launch of Terran 1, the world's first 3D-printed rocket. But something went wrong with the rocket's upper stage.
Still, the company is thrilled to have made it through Max-Q. "We just completed a major step in proving to the world that 3D-printed rockets are structurally viable," the company's Arwa Tizani Kelly said.

A "hole" in the sun's atmosphere may produce a dazzling light show on Earth in the coming days.
A moderate aurora watch is in effect for Friday, March 24, in higher latitudes of Earth due to a coronal hole, an opening in the sun's magnetic field, according to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Here's what to know.

UAE's astronaut celebrates Ramadan on space station

The first Emirati astronaut in space is celebrating the beginning of Ramadan in orbit with the arrival of the new moon this week. Sultan Al Neyadi is not the first astronaut to mark the Muslim holy month in space, but he is the first to do so for the entire month of Ramadan on the International Space Station.

Webb spies hot, gritty clouds on exoplanet with 2 suns

The pioneering James Webb Space Telescope just peered directly into the atmosphere of a giant exoplanet with two suns (like Tatooine from "Star Wars") known as VHS 1256 b — and found a roiling world with turbulent clouds made of silicates, similar to sand here on Earth.

Space dust could carry alien life across the galaxy

Up to 100,000 pieces of life-carrying dust particles could be making their way to Earth every year, according to the study, which was authored by Tomonori Totani, an astronomy professor at the University of Tokyo.
