This World Ocean Day, June 8, join activists around the world to celebrate and protect Earth’s oceans. On the organizers’ website, check out handy guides for coastal cleanups or plogging (picking up litter while jogging), sign a petition for world leaders to conserve more of the world’s oceans and find events near you. Applications are open for the ACS-Hach High School Chemistry Classroom Grant. High-school chemistry teachers in the United States can apply for up to $1,500 to help purchase lab equipment, instruction manuals, supplies for student-led research and more. The deadline to apply for 2022-2023 grants is June 1.
