NASA’s Boeing Orbital Flight Test-2 (OFT-2) is targeting launch of the CST-100 Starliner spacecraft at 6:54 p.m. EDT tonight from Florida. The uncrewed capsule will dock with the space station about 24 hours later with more than 800 pounds of cargo. Prelaunch activities, launch, and docking will air live on NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency’s website.
Celebrate the launch and docking with the Commercial Crew STEM Mission Toolkit, a one-stop-shop resource filled with lesson plans, videos, and educational activities for K-12 students. Find more ways to bring resources from Commercial Crew and the International Space Station into your classroom by visiting NASA’s STEM on Station website. | | To celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, NASA astronaut Tracy Caldwell Dyson made a surprise video call to help honor Ms. Charisse Heine at the Ohio School for the Deaf. Ms. Heine has been teaching science and bringing the excitement of NASA's missions to her students for more than 25 years.

Join Earth to Sky for a course designed to deepen your understanding of climate science and expand your climate communication and interpretation skills. | | Audience: Middle School and High School Educators in the U.S. Application Deadline: June 24 Take part in a year-long virtual professional development program to explore ways to help your students improve their observation and science writing skills using the GLOBE Program (Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment). Participants will be introduced to pacing guides and lesson plans centered on outdoor environmental observations. The sequence will culminate in student writing that will be considered for publication on the GLOBE website. While materials will focus on Earth science, a broad range of educators (science, math, computer science, library, etc.) are welcome to apply. | | Audience: Researchers from U.S.-based Industry, Academia and Private Research Institutions Mandatory Preliminary Proposal Deadline: June 2 The 2022 TechFlights solicitation offers up to $750,000 per awardee to rapidly test technologies on commercial suborbital flight vehicles. This year, NASA’s Flight Opportunities program is partnering with the agency's Small Spacecraft Technology program, enabling awardees to also propose flight tests of payloads hosted on commercial orbital platforms. Awardees receive a grant or cooperative agreement allowing them to purchase flights directly from any eligible U.S. commercial flight provider that best suits their technology demonstration. | | Audience: Minority Serving U.S. Colleges and Universities Proposal Deadline: June 20 at 5 p.m. EDT NASA invites Minority Serving Institutions to submit proposals to establish a NASA MUREP Aerospace Academy for high school students. Through opportunities to engage with STEM, the MUREP Aerospace Academy will increase participation and retention of historically underserved and underrepresented high school students in areas of STEM and prepare them for success in college STEM degree programs and eventual STEM careers. The MUREP Aerospace Academy is generally conducted in an out-of-school setting, but may also be offered in a school setting. Successful proposals will be funded as three-year cooperative agreements. | | Audience: Accredited U.S. Universities Proposal Deadline: June 23 at 5 p.m. EDT NASA seeks proposals to develop unique, disruptive, or transformational space technologies that have the potential to lead to dramatic improvements at the system level. This solicitation challenges universities to examine the theoretical feasibility of new ideas and approaches that are critical to making science, space travel, and exploration more effective, affordable, and sustainable.
