NASA’s “You’ve Got Perseverance!” award opportunity invites U.S. teachers, educators, and community members to nominate students in grades 6-8 who have demonstrated that they have the right stuff to move past obstacles and reach their academic goals. The program will reward that dedication with recognition from the Perseverance rover all the way on Mars!

NASA is excited to offer CONNECTS community members and their K-12 students this exclusive opportunity to join a live, virtual event with astronaut Ricky Arnold. During this unforgettable interactive event on May 4, students will learn about Ricky and get a chance to ask him questions. Upon completion of the virtual connection, students will be challenged to complete a STEMonstration activity. Educators will then share the students’ activity results through the NASA CONNECTS community of practice.

The Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) program is hosting a series of free virtual workshops to celebrate Girls in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Day. Girls in ICT Day is a worldwide effort to encourage girls to study and work in the ICT field.

April 16 marks the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Apollo 16 mission to the Moon. Celebrate this historic mission with a public presentation that provides an overview of the mission, including highlights, video clips, and images.
 
The presentation is meant for use by anyone interested in learning more about Apollo 16 and as a resource for those who may be presenting on the topic. You can download and adapt the slides to your audience and setting.
Audience: High School and Undergraduate Students

The Kibo Robot Programming Challenge invites teams of students to create programs to move free-flying robots known as Astrobees on the International Space Station. The competition presents tasks/obstacles for students to solve using the space station’s Kibo module as a game space.

Preliminary rounds will be held in multiple countries using ground-based simulations. Winning teams will be eligible to participate in the final round, which will be held in the Kibo Laboratory on the space station.
