NASA EXPRESS -- Your STEM Connection for Sept. 12, 2024

Make a STEM Connection:

NASA's Advanced Composite Solar Sail System

NASA’s Advanced Composite Solar Sail System (ACS3) spacecraft has successfully hoisted its sail in low Earth orbit. This small spacecraft – about the size of a microwave oven – is demonstrating next-generation solar sail technology. In the same way that a sailboat is powered by wind, solar sails employ the pressure of sunlight for propulsion.

Make a STEM connection to this exciting mission with the following resources.
